2009 TRAINS on the PLAINS

presented by    THE NORTHERN COLORADO MODEL RAILROAD CLUB
in conjunction with   NMRA 2009 ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGIONAL CONVENTION

The 2009 TRAINS on the PLAINS Train Show
                                               May 22-24,
 2009
                                              Greeley,  Colorado

On Memorial Day Weekend 2009, Greeley, Colorado will host three very special events all happening simultaneously; first is the 2009 NMRA Rocky Mountain Regional Convention hosted by the Northern Colorado Division of the RMR, featuring Jim Hediger, Senior Editor, Model Railroader Magazine as the banquet guest speaker; second will be the 2009 Trains on the Plains Train Show hosted by the Northern Colorado Model Railroad Club; and third the Grand Opening of the fabulous Greeley Freight Station Museum. The museum houses one of the largest and most spectacular HO scale model railroads found anywhere, the Oregon California & Eastern Railway!

Our hope is these three events will have the look and feel of a mini-national convention and train show. With the museum grand opening still weeks away, the Oregon California & Eastern Railway has already received regional and now national acclaim. Recently the OC&E was featured on the cover of the April 2009 issue of Scale Rails magazine, the official magazine of the NMRA. The OC&E was also the lead article in the December 2008 issue of Model Railroader magazine. Denver based television station KUSA (NBC Channel 9) has agreed to cover the grand opening and train show and on Friday, April 3rd, Denver based Channel 2's Chris Parente will do five two minute live remotes from the Greeley Freight Station Museum. The first remote will be at 6:40 AM. With this kind of interest and publicity, we're expecting a large contingent of railroad enthusiasts, from across the country visiting Greeley, Colorado on Memorial Day Weekend. To learn more about the Oregon California & Eastern Railway, click  www.gfsm.org to goto the museum website.

The 2009 Trains on the Plains Train Show has secured commitments from 25 vendors and 10 exhibitors. Some of the finest G, O, HO & N scale modular layouts from the region will be on display. We also have commitments from highly respected local, regional and national vendors. Click on the LINKS tab above for a full list of  vendors and links to their websites.

Important Notice to Vendor and Exhibitors

As of January 1st, 2009 the Trains on the Plains train show sold out all of it's allotted vendor and exhibitor space. The train show committee is grateful to those vendors and exhibitors who did sign up early. To those vendors and exhibitors who were not able to attend, we apologize! The show organizers were shocked at the level of interest and the committee did try to move the show from it's current 24,000 sq ft location into a 40,000 sq ft building, because of scheduling issues were not able to do so. In the future, if show organizers decide to continue the "Trains on the Plains" train show, we will secure a larger venue. The vendors and exhibitors that were unable to attent this years show have been added to our database and will be contacted if future shows are planned.
